If two people want to drive a rental car in Baku, raise that request before confirming the reservation. Ask whether the additional driver can be accepted and what information is required for each person. The operator needs to confirm the arrangement in the rental record. A passenger travelling with the renter should not be treated as an authorised driver simply because they are part of the same group.
Name the people who want to drive
Tell the operator how many drivers you are requesting and provide the information needed to assess them through the agreed booking process. Ask about the documents, applicable eligibility conditions and any additional charge before accepting the quotation. Each intended driver needs their own confirmation under the rental arrangement.
Read the document preparation guide and the current rental FAQ. Distinguish the booking organiser from the people who will operate the car. A colleague or family member can organise a message, but that does not establish who is permitted to take over driving during the trip.
Include the request in the accepted quotation
Ask the operator how an approved additional driver is recorded and whether the quoted total includes the request. Keep that answer with the vehicle, dates and return arrangement. If the second driver is not present at the initial handover, ask what procedure applies before that person begins to drive.
| Booking role | Detail to establish |
|---|---|
| Main renter | Person named for the rental arrangement |
| Additional driver | Acceptance and required documentation |
| Booking organiser | Contact able to coordinate the request |
| Paying party | Agreed payment arrangement, if different |
Avoid leaving these roles to be inferred from several separate messages after the car has already been delivered.
Share the vehicle instructions
Ask how each accepted driver will receive the relevant operating and rental information. Review the car’s controls, fuel specification, supplied equipment and emergency contact. The vehicle inspection and existing-condition record should be understandable to the people responsible for using and returning the car.
Use the collection checklist to organise that record. Describe the complete itinerary, including overnight destinations and intended roads. The permitted route and vehicle configuration remain important even when another accepted driver shares the driving. Do not treat a second driver as a change to the agreed vehicle-use conditions or return responsibility.
Report later changes before they happen
If another person later asks to drive, contact the operator before handing over the vehicle. Obtain the required acceptance and updated rental record. If an existing driver’s plans change, explain how the remaining group will complete the accepted itinerary and return.
Keep the final operator acknowledgement available to both authorised drivers. Review the return checklist, including the keys, equipment and condition record. If nobody in the group wants to self-drive, compare a separate service with the private-driver planning guide. A clearly documented driver arrangement keeps the rental request aligned with the people who will actually use the car.
