Before the handover
Have the written booking confirmation, original driving licence and identification ready. Check any permit requirements before travelling. Bring the bank card you will use for the $200 deposit and confirm the deposit procedure with the handover contact. Leave enough time to inspect the vehicle; a hurried arrival can make it easy to overlook marks, fuel information or controls. Ask where a calm inspection can take place if you are collecting at a busy entrance.
Record the exterior together
Walk around the vehicle with the handover representative. Look at the bumpers, doors, mirrors, windscreen and wheels, then record existing marks in the handover document. Take clear photographs from several angles and keep them until the deposit has been refunded. Photos should support the written inspection record. If the light is poor, ask how existing damage will be documented clearly before you accept the car.
Check the cabin and luggage
Confirm the seat configuration, seat belts, luggage space and any agreed child seat or accessories. Sit in the driving position and locate the lights, wipers, parking brake and gearbox controls. Check the ventilation and ask about any unfamiliar dashboard warning. Make sure your phone can be mounted and charged without blocking your view. Load your suitcases before leaving if you need to verify that the car suits your group.
Agree fuel, mileage and help
Record the fuel level and mileage on the collection document. Ask which fuel the exact vehicle requires and how the return fuel policy works. Keep the roadside support number and clarify what to do after a breakdown or accident. Insurance coverage and excess should be described in the agreement; the refundable deposit is a separate item. Discuss your planned route if it includes mountain access or smaller roads.
Keep a complete record
Save the signed handover record, rental agreement, deposit receipt and WhatsApp confirmation. Daily prices remain the same throughout the rental, with no duration discounts. The $200 card deposit is returned within 14 days after vehicle return under the rental conditions. Before you leave, repeat the return time and location back to the representative and check whom to contact if your schedule changes.
